The Go Chair Med from Pride Mobility represents the latest and greatest travel-friendly electric wheelchairs from one of the premier mobility scooter manufacturers. The former Go-Chair which is the predecessor of the MED version did not have the option for a wider seat or the option to get a swing-away joystick. The MED has both of those options.
This FDA Class II Medical Device comes standard with several features that truly help this power wheelchair stand out from the competition. If you are curious about what an FDA Class II Medical Device means, it means that this product was specifically designed to aid individuals with mobility impairments.
With this Go Chair MED, users will enjoy a fantastic user experience by way of an intuitive controller that is easy to operate. It is extremely simple to help increase the confidence of all Go Chair Med electric wheelchair users. If you intend on bringing your power wheelchair with you to dinner or out and about, you’ll be happy to learn that the seat is a five-point swivel seat. Meaning you do not have to maneuver the chair to exit it. If you have a clear path you can simply lift the latch release and move toward the direction in which you wish to exist.
Standard Go Chair Med Features
With a power wheelchair that you travel with, it must be easy to disassemble. If you have to have a bunch of tools or if it is a difficult task, you will avoid using your product. This disassembly has been considered to be a one-hand feather-touch disassembly. You can’t get much easier than that! Say goodbye to tools or having to ask friends for help.
Comfort is always one of the most important factors. If you do not feel like your travel power wheelchair is comfortable, you’ll likely not be as excited to go out and use it. Pride has included a large footplate which adds to the comfort.
An optional feature is a swing-away joystick. This also helps reduce the profile of the power wheelchair and allows you to easily move the joystick out of your way. The weight capacity on the Go Chair Med is 300 lbs. The top speed is fair 3.7MPH which is pretty standard for a power wheelchair. Very rarely will you find a top speed eclipsing 4MPH. A full charge is expected to get you to about 8.6 miles which is pretty common for travel power wheelchairs. The ground clearance is 1.75” at the motor.
For those who intend on being in tight spaces, you’ll enjoy the tight turning radius of 25.5”. In short, that means you can do a complete 360-degree turn in a little more than 2 feet of space. The suspension is present but is limited and not like what you will find on full-size or heavy-duty power wheelchairs.
The heaviest piece of equipment weighs in at 36lbs which is the rear-section. You have two different seating options as well. You have an 18” seat option which is 17” deep and weighs 29lbs or can choose a 20” seat option with an 18” depth which weighs 32 lbs.

For a period of 5 years of your product from the date of purchase, Pride will repair or replace at our option to the original purchaser, free or charge, any of the following parts found upon examination by an authorized representative of Pride to be defective in material and/or workmanship. Six Month Warranty For Lithium-Ion Batteries
Lithium-Ion batteries are covered by a separate 6 (six) month warranty provided by the battery manufacturer and they are not warranted by Pride Mobility whatsoever.
LifePo4 Battery Warranty Information
Each product that comes with Lithium batteries, will have a warranty that is specific for that model. Below is a chart showing the warranty information for each model that either comes with lithium batteries, or that can be upgraded to have lithium batteries. Lithium batteries are including LifePo4 chemistry.
NOTE: STARTING FROM THE DATE OF DELIVERY, BATTERY CHARGE MUST BY MAINTAINED TO ENSURE WARRANTY COVERAGE. Reconditioned Units Warranty
All recondition units are covered by a six-month warranty from the original date of purchase.
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not provide for the items that may require replacement due to normal wear and tear. Those items as follow, the ABS plastic shrouds, motor brushes, upholstery and seating, brake pads, tires and tubes, and fuses and bulbs.
They also do not cover circumstances beyond the control of Pride Mobility. Labor, service, shipping and any other charges for repair of the product, unless specifically authorized in advance by Pride Mobility. No repair and or modifications to the units in any part without specific consent from Pride Mobility. Exclusions also include contamination, abuse, misuse, accident or negligence, battery fluid spillage or leakage, use other than normal design specifications, improper operation, maintenance, or storage.
Please note that if there is increased operational noise in the transaxle, the warranty will not apply. This means the unit was abused and excessive strain was put on the scooter or power wheelchair. Batteries found to be completely discharged will not be warranted. Batteries found to have gradual deterioration will also not be covered under warranted because of normal wear and tear use. For more specific warranty information to a specific product please read the user manual provided online or with the product.
Service Checks & Warranty Service
Warranty service must be performed by an authorized Pride Provider. Do not return faulty parts to Pride without prior written authorization. All transportation costs and shipping damage incurred while submitting parts for repair or replacement are the responsibility of the purchaser. Failure to follow the instructions, warnings, and notes in the owner's manual and those located on your product can result in personal injury or product damage and will void Pride's warranty.
