If you’ve noticed your mobility scooter battery is failing, you can head over to our mobility scooter battery page to get a new one!

Have you tried the tips suggested above in the video? Still not, getting the top speed you need?? Don’t worry! We are here to try and help you discover the root cause of your concern. There is another reason why the scooter may not be going at full speed and that is due to the Throttle Pot. Throttle Pot is short for the throttle potentiometer. You’ll need to get a voltmeter and measure the ohms. If you are still stuck after this step, it might be time to call a mobility scooter technician who is factory-trained that can help you.

Still not locating the issue? Don’t worry. There are other issues that can be causing your mobility scooter to go slow. However, these may be more difficult for you to identify. For instance, if your motor is overheating, you can be robbing your scooter of power. Also, motors are an expensive fix. In many instances, it may not be much more money to purchase a new mobility scooter. If you have a heavy-duty mobility scooter, it might be worth it to just fix the motor. Be sure to compare the price of fixing your mobility scooter vs buying a new one that has a factory warranty.

The other most common issue of a mobility scooter going slow would be the electronic brake failure. Most mobility scooters have electromagnetic brakes. This simply means that when you lift the throttle, you’ll notice the scooter stops. If this system is malfunctioning or your brakes are engaging slightly, you won’t be able to hit full speed.
