Sounds like you’re killing your batteries by not using a charger that is provided by the manufacturer. If you need a charger replacement, I would get the exact one that came with the scooter. Otherwise, you could damage your batteries which are expensive. I would recommend finding the GoGo scooter model on our site, then looking at the specs to see how many amps the charger is that comes with it.

After you’ve identified how many amps your charger is supposed to be, you should know if you’re killing your batteries or not. I imagine 3 amps is the highest you’ll be able to go since all GOGO’s are travel units with relatively small batteries.

Batteries typically only last about 1.5 to 2 years. Its’ likely just time to replace the batteries.

    Hello,

Unfortunately, that is not a brand that we sell. It is not a familiar brand by our technicians either. If your batteries are fully charged, and your connections are fine, you may want to look to see if the electronic brake is disengaged. If you can physically roll the scooter without a key in the scooter, you must switch the brake (usually a lever on the back right of the scooter) to the opposite position so that the wheels are locked or engaged.

If your scooter is still not working by the time you read this reply, you should contact the manufacturers directly. If you are looking a mobility scooter, we suggest taking a look at the best mobility scooter brands we have to offer.

There are many issues you could be having with your Drive Centurion MMX. Unfortunately, that product has been discontinued for several years. Parts are not readily available for this unit. I would highly suggest looking at your user manual and identify what the beep sequence would be. Typically at 2;4 beep code would indicate that this is a lack of power getting to the controller. Make sure that all connections are tight or perhaps start by replacing the batteries. 9 times out of 10 a mobility scooter malfunction is related to the batteries.

    Hello Matt,

There are a few options, the first that comes to mind would be the P182 by merits health

You might also want to check out the Pride Jazzy Passport which is brand new and is made by the most trusted manufacturer in the industry.

Here are a few others that might be a good fit as well, these are all lightweight and have a decent travel range:

    Hello Bolocarver,

Typically if you buy an inexpensive charger, they will not last long – The wires are very flimsy.

You want to get something with a strong housing and thick wires so that they don’t break free. We only sell top rated chargers which is why they’re rather expensive. You can expect them to outlast any of the low priced ones you find online.

Hello Marym5150, may I ask what type of unit you have? Often times if you refer to our beep code guides, you can find the answer. Below are some helpful links:

You have 75ah batteries which are very big batteries and require a very strong charger to provide an efficient charge time.

    Good day Brenda,

If you to upgrade to the larger battery pack then you would have to buy the larger battery pack and the larger batteries. The larger batteries won’t fit in the standard 12 ah battery pack that comes with the unit.

That answer goes for any mobility scooter that has an upgrade-able battery pack.

Hello Gsau22, that sounds like you have a battery issue. Not enough voltage getting to the transaxle is probably what’s happening. I would recommend getting new batteries.

Hi Christopher, I apologize for the delayed response, our forum is new and we’re still having trouble keeping up with questions.

To answer your question about the P327: It has a semi recline seat similar to the other power wheelchairs, basically they get a recline up to 15 degrees from an upright seating position of 90 degrees.

Yes, the Merits P320 power wheelchair is an off-board charging type. It comes with an off-board charger. This particular model is very popular among our customers. It’s one of many great power wheelchairs by Merits and I highly recommend it.

The user manual from Drive for the Scout Mobility Scooter says that it should not get wet and if happen to get it wet you should try your best to dry the scooter ASAP. Based on that information, I would not recommend using the unit while it’s snowing out. I have a customer based out of CO and often he uses the Scout 4 wheel to get to and from the car when he goes out. He uses it on roads that have been plowed when it’s not snowing and has trouble sometimes because the wheels would spin. Due to the low ground clearance and smaller wheels, this is not ideal for handling wet roads. My customer only uses this when it’s dry out, he loves the scooter for indoor and dry weather although he wishes he had gotten the 3 wheel version that’s a bit easier to turn.

There are many heavy duty models made by Pride that are considered “high weight capacity mobility scooters”. The one with the highest weight capacity as of now (4/15/2017) is the Pride Maxima 4 Wheel Mobility Scooter or the 3 Wheel version.

If you’re in the market for heavy duty models that are designed to handle individuals with obesity, I recommend reading this blog post.
