How to fix mobility scooter batteries

If you are wondering how to revive dead batteries for a mobility scooter, there is no way to do it, unfortunately. Once the batteries are dead and can’t hold a charge, they are TOAST. You will need new batteries.

If you watch the video below, you can learn how to check your batteries while under load. That is usually the best way to find out if your batteries are bad. Even then your batteries have a full charge, but it doesn’t mean that they can retain it the way they could when you first bought them. Doing a load test is the best way to determine whether or not your batteries need to be replaced.

Most mobility scooters work with 2, 12-volt SLA batteries. When fully charged, the 2 batteries should provide around 25 volts to your scooter. If the voltage drops too much while it’s being used, that means the batteries are not able to hold a charge while under “load”.
