Have you ever encountered a time when your mobility scooter sleeps or times out after you’ve stepped out or not used it for a few minutes after turning it on? This may be worrying if you don’t know what’s happening but this is normal.

Like most mobility devices, they have a timeout mode that automatically turns on when the scooter is on but is not used for over 5 or 10 minutes. Just like a computer, it will then go into sleep mode and will not work until you’ve reset power by turning it off using the key and turning it back on.

This is a safety feature that can’t be turned off or removed to be safe in cases where accidents may happen or when the person falls asleep on the scooter.
