Features to Look For
When you are looking for a mobility scooter that can handle grass, there are some helpful features to keep in mind. First and foremost, larger or more rugged tires are very beneficial for off-road driving. Units with smaller tires are not able to perform as sufficiently in grassy terrain. Another important feature to look for is the scooter’s ground clearance. Scooters with a low ground clearance are quite close to the ground/grass and therefore are not able to navigate easily through the grass. Models with considerable ground clearance, usually 3 inches and above, are much more capable of handling various outdoor terrain. Additional components that will help with driving through grass are a powerful motor and suspension. Although the suspension is not completely necessary, it does provide a smoother, less bumpy ride compared to units without it. Now, let us review our favorite mobility scooters for riding through the grass!

The Go-Go Sport by Pride Mobility is a portable travel scooter, although, it boasts larger tires and a 3-inch ground clearance for handling grassy areas. The Go-Go Sport can hold up to 325 pounds, has a top speed of 4.7 MPH, and can travel up to 12 miles per charge. One of the best features of this model is its easy disassembly and transportability. It breaks down into 5 lightweight pieces, with the heaviest piece weighing just 35.75 pounds!
