I have an Invacare Panther MX4 and the new batteries are draining very fast (I can go about 5km). The only thing I have not yet checked is the transaxle. Yesterday we did a current draw test while loaded and unloaded. While driving the current fluctuated in what appeared a normal way. While unloaded (the rear wheels lifted off the ground) the current draw was between 3 and 4 amps.
Is this a normal amount unloaded? I can find no documentation on this.
I surmise that a high draw unloaded would mean a mechanical restriction somewhere. As there are no external oil or grease points on the drive train it must be inside.
Any insight about this would be appreciated. I don’t want to start taking the transaxle apart and find out that it won’t help.Sorry, but we don’t sell or service the invacare brand. They have been out of business for many years.
