Changing tires or wheels on a mobility scooter is a pretty straightforward process in most cases. We have made a few videos for various models that we sell which you’ll find below.

Usually, there are only a few simple steps involved starting with removing the old wheel assembly. Some mobility scooters have the wheel and tire together, while others give you the option to replace the rubber tire while keeping the old rim/wheel.

If you have a Pride or Afikim scooter, the wheel is usually just held on with a big nut and washer. Remove that nut, take the tire off and keep an eye out for the magnet (known as a self-aligning woodruff key) that fits into the axle’s key seat. You’ll see what we mean by the video below.
