The EZ Carrier EZCL lift is an alternative to the big bulky lifts made by manufacturers like Harmar. Unlike the EZCLA, this model does not offer an automatic liftgate. So if you are on a budget but want a similar design, this might be the best choice. There are some other differences that we will discuss as well so you can ensure you have all the information you need to make a wise decision on which vehicle lift for your mobility scooter or power wheelchair is right for you.

EZ-Carrier Demonstration Videos

In order to fold up the carrier platform, pull the pin, and like a tailgate you’ll need to manually lift the tailgate. With the auto version, this is done with the push of a lever. It is more costly because of the design and the need for a motor to lift the platform. While we are on the topic of platforms, it is important to understand that the EZCL does not have other platform sizes available. Here are the available platform sizes with the EZCL:  28"X50" & 28"x42"

If you need a larger platform, custom platform sizes are only available on the EZCLA auto fold up the electric lift. Additionally, the EZCL cannot have an upgraded platform for additional support and stability. Other than that, the EZCL is very similar to the most costly EZCLA. Again, the main difference is the automatic fold up lever which will raise the platform. The EZCL will still raise the scooter or power wheelchair, just not the tailgate.

What is Included with the EZCL Electric Lift?

As mentioned earlier, the platform sizes of 28"X50" & 28"x42" are available. Additionally, everything that your installer needs to put the EZCL electric lift for mobility scooters and power wheelchairs comes included. It will include a wiring harness as well as two cargo buckles. If you are worried about the elements deteriorating the EZCL electric lift you should know that it has a powder-coated all-steel platform. 

EZ Lift is so confident in their product that they offer a 1-year limited factory warranty on their product. Furthermore, the weight capacity is pretty high. For Class II hitches, you can expect a 250lb weight capacity, and if you have a Class III hitch, this weight capacity increases to 350lbs. For Class III hitches, a locking hitch pin is included as well.

This product is warranted to be free from any defect in materials used in the manufacture, and/or workmanship at the time of its manufacture. The manufacturer’s warranty period is one year unless otherwise specified at time of sale. Any part found to be defective during this period will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of EZ Carrier, LLC. Any part replaced under the warranty will be covered for the remaining period of the warranty. Any parts replaced under the warranty must be returned to EZ Carrier, LLC and will become the property of EZ Carrier, LLC. EZ Carrier, LLC may, at its discretion make any repairs or replacement of defective parts but such work shall not be deemed to be any admission of liability. EZ Carrier will bear labor charges for work carried out under the warranty. The warranty may not be transferred to subsequent owners for the balance of the remaining warranty period.

Conditions and Exclusions:

  • The product must not have been used for competition, misused, inadequately maintained, or incorrectly serviced or maintained.
  • The product must not have been subject to any modification, repair, or replacement other than as authorized by EZ Carrier, LLC.
  • Defects caused by faulty adjustment, neglect, or repairs and alterations performed by anyone other than EZ Carrier, LLC are not covered by this warranty.
  • Defects caused by the use of parts and accessories not authorized by EZ Carrier, LLC are not covered by this warranty.
  • The warranty does not cover the cost of transportation of the product to or from EZ Carrier, LLC, or expenses incurred while the product is out of use and under warranty repairs.
  • The warranty does not cover product used on a commercial basis.
  • The warranty does not cover defects, which have not been reported to EZ Carrier, LLC within the immediate discovery of the defect.
  • Should a warranty claim become necessary, EZ Carrier, LLC shall not be liable for loss of use, inconvenience, lost time, commercial losses or other incidental or consequential damages.
  • If for any reason, the carrier does not appear to be in good and sound condition, it must not be used. Any loss as a direct or indirect result of the use of the carrier in a compromised condition is the sole liability of the user.
  • Paint finish will diminish, scratch, and chip over a period of time due to normal use and therefore paint is not covered under warranty, nor is rust that has resulted from exposed surfaces. We recommend to wash clean the salt and chemicals during winter months.
  • Actuator and motor on the lifts carry no warranty other than that of the manufacturer of them; actuators, one year; motors, one year (EZ Carrier LLC does not make these specific parts).
  • Must present copy of this paper work along with copy of proof of purchase as in copy of credit card statement or such. at time of warranty work.

Any statement, condition, representation, description or warranty otherwise contained in any other publication or advertisement shall not be construed as enlarging, varying or overriding anything contained herein.

EZ Carrier, LLC reserves the right to make alterations or improvements without notification to any model without obligation to do so to products already sold.

Liability Disclaimer:

The purchaser of the carrier is solely responsible for the installation, use, and the securing of any item being carried. In no event shall EZ Carrier, LLC be liable for any damages whatsoever, including but not limited to any direct, indirect, special, consequential, punitive or incidental damages, or damages for loss of use, profit, or other intangibles, or the cost of procurement of substitute goods and services, arising out of or related to the use, inability to use, unauthorized use, performance or nonperformance of our products. Even if EZ Carrier, LLC has been advised previously of the possibility of such damages and whether such damages arise in contract, negligence, tort, under statute, in equity, at law or otherwise. In no circumstance shall EZ Carrier be liable for any losses or damages whatsoever. All matters are interpreted under Oklahoma law.

Safety Considerations:

Stopping distance – a carrier and cargo add weight to the vehicle and lengthens the time and distance that it takes to stop. Be sure to review the guidelines provided by your automobile manufacturer’s manual and adjusts your riding accordingly, allowing extra time and distance for slowing and stopping.

Passing – due to the extra weight of the carrier and cargo, be sure to allow extra time and space for passing. The combination of carrier and cargo extend the length of your vehicle and should be considered when merging and passing.

Tire Maintenance – be sure tires are inflated to the proper psi. Consult your automobile manufacturer’s operations manual for recommendations.

Check your hardware – make sure all hardware is tightened and secure prior to beginning any trip.

Alterations – changing, adding to, or removing parts of a carrier may adversely affect the handling of the product and is strongly not advised.

NOTE: The batteries that you receive with your powered mobility device may vary in capacity rating (amp-hour). The battery specifications that you see on our website for the AH rating are not always what you will receive. Depending on inventory, you may receive batteries that are slightly higher or lower in capacity. Manufacturers use the group size specification when shipping batteries, not the AH rating. The slight variance in AH rating will not impact that overall travel range significantly.

Summary of Return Policy:

Mobility Direct offers a 30-day return policy which means that when you receive your product, you have 30 days to ensure it's working as intended. If the product is defective or not working, we will either work with the manufacturer to ensure the unit is fixed (if possible) or we can have the product returned at no cost to you in most cases. If a product arrives defective, we will act in a timely manner to get the product fixed by a local technician. If that is not possible, we will offer to have the product exchanged or returned for a complete refund.


If your product is working fine without any defects or damage, you may still return the unit within that 30-day return period but you will be required to: 


1. Request a return authorization (RMA) from our customer service department. 


2. Repackage the product in the original packaging.


3. Ship the product back to one of our receiving locations. 


Once we receive the product and inspect it for damage you will be refunded the amount of the product minus a restocking fee of up to 20%. If the product is damaged, the costs to replace parts and repair the unit will also be deducted from the total refund amount. 

How to Handle Your Product Delivery


Please follow the steps below BEFORE SIGNING for and ACCEPTING Delivery:


NO VISIBLE DAMAGE:

If there are NO visible holes, rips, dents, or tears to any of the packaging, then please sign and accept your delivery without making exceptions.


VISIBLE DAMAGE:

If there are visible holes, rips, dents, or tears to any of the packaging, please note the extent of the damage in the exceptions area of the delivery slip, and accept your delivery. Contact our customer service department at (877) 460-1646 if the product is found to be damaged after unpacking. Please note the delivery driver is NOT obligated to wait for you to unpack the scooter to inspect before you accept the delivery.


EXTREME DAMAGE:

If there IS an extreme amount of obvious damage to the packaging of your scooter, please refuse the delivery as “Damaged in Transit”, then both you and the Delivery Driver must sign the BOL. Immediately notify our customer service department at (877) 460-1646 if a shipment is refused due to extreme damage.


CONCEALED DAMAGE:

If there was NO visible damage to the packaging, but the product is damaged, immediately call our customer service department at(877) 460-1646 to report the damage. Concealed damage claims are limited to 72 hours after delivery in order for us to file a damage claim and provide you with the fastest solution.

It is important you know that our manufacturing partners are putting each product through a 35-point inspection two separate times before shipping. Although the package may not appear damaged, this does not mean it was not mishandled during transit.
