Knowing The Rise, Incline & Length is Crucial
The rise in inches is used to determine the ramp's run/length in feet when purchasing a safe ramp application. Generally, the recommended length in feet should equal the rise in inches. Meaning, if the rise is 4 inches, you should have a ramp that has a run/length of 2 feet. The ADA recommends a 1 to 1 ratio, which means 1 foot of ramp run/length for each inch that the rise measures.
NOTE: Ramps that have a 14.5-degree incline or higher, should only be used to transport an unoccupied mobility scooter or wheelchair, not an occupied one.
Below we have provided a tool that you can use to get familiar with the rise, incline, and length of your ramp application.
Rise: You will need to measure the rise, which is the vertical measurement from the ground to the elevated surface where the ramp will be seated.
Incline Rating: It's crucial for you to know what the incline rating of your powered-mobility device is in order to purchase a ramp that will be safe to use. The incline rating of your mobility scooter should be found on our website if we carry it, otherwise, check your user manual.
Run (aka Length): The Length of your ramp will be calculated with the tool below and displayed under the "RUN" title.
Please be sure to use the tool below or call a sales expert to help you find the ramp length before purchasing. We do not accept refunds due to the wrong size being selected. by concalculator.com
