These models either come equipped with a lithium battery or have the option to upgrade to a lithium battery. Lithium (Li) batteries are much lighter and last much longer compared to traditional Lead-Acid based batteries.

Mobility Scooters With Lithium Batteries

We have a large selection of mobility scooters that either come equipped with lithium batteries or have the option to upgrade to lithium batteries. Learn more by visiting our web page. In general, Lithium batteries will last longer and hold a high-voltage charge throughout the charge cycle when compared to traditional SLA batteries that are acid-based. Many customers ask us "Are Lithium batteries worth it?" because they do cost twice as much if not more than traditional SLA batteries. The answer is yes for many, but it boils down to your budget. Lithium batteries are superior and much lighter in weight, they also last longer and usually have a much longer warranty.

If you are looking for a mobility scooter that runs on lithium batteries, then you have come to the right place. On this page, we feature the largest selection of lithium lithium-powered mobility scooters that are made by reputable manufacturers like Pride Mobility, Golden Technologies, and many others.

Choosing the right mobility scooter can be a daunting task. So many brands and customizations make it difficult to choose the right option let alone knowing what type of battery to use. This is why we ALWAYS recommend speaking with one of our sales experts before making a purchase. For those who prefer doing their research, we've created this page to help educate buyers who are considering a mobility scooter but are unsure of whether or not it's worth it to go with a lithium-powered one or not.

Lithium VS Traditional Sealed Lead Acid

Like many of our customers, you might be asking "Do I need a lithium mobility scooter?" and the answer is, YES (in most cases). The only reason why you would want to stick with a traditional SLA battery is due to cost. SLA batteries are heavy, they discharge faster, and only last about 2 years in states that are humid and hot. It's worth noting that most mobility scooters come with GEL batteries that are still considered sealed lead-acid. Others often come with AGM-style SLA batteries, but again, all of those are considered SLA and cannot compare with the performance of a Lithium Chemistry battery.

Lithium batteries have proven to be a superior chemistry type when it comes to several factors such as the overall longevity, the weight of the battery itself, and the ability it has to provide higher voltage throughout the discharge process. In simple terms, Lithium batters are the future, and sealed-lead-acid batteries are soon to be antiquated for mobility scooters. We'll get into the more specific details and explain why.

Traveling With A Mobility Scooter On An Airplane

Please note that not all lithium batteries are TSA-compliant. It is essential to contact your airline directly to inquire about their specific protocol regarding lithium batteries. Ensuring compliance with airline regulations will help you have a hassle-free travel experience and avoid any inconveniences at the airport.

To make it easier for everyone we created a step-by-step tutorial video on taking a mobility scooter on an airplane: lithium-powered mobility scooter, you can watch it by clicking this Traveling With A Mobility Scooter On An Airplane - ULTIMATE Complete Guide
